📋 Table of contents
To unify your POS, online ordering and reservation system, run them on one platform with one menu, one kitchen screen and one customer database. Orders from the counter, website, QR codes, WhatsApp and table bookings should all land in the same place, update the same menu and build the same customer list. FoodChow puts POS billing, online ordering, QR and WhatsApp ordering, table reservations and a kitchen display system together.
Walk into a busy restaurant at 8 PM and count the screens: a billing PC, two delivery-app tablets, a phone for WhatsApp orders, a notebook for table bookings. Every order is typed twice, menus don't match, and nobody knows who the regulars are.
That's not a staff problem. It's a systems problem. Here's how to fix it by putting POS, online ordering and reservations into one connected setup.
Run your whole restaurant on FoodChow
- POS & billing
- Online, QR & WhatsApp orders
- Table reservations
- Kitchen display system
1The real cost of disconnected systems
Double entry
Online orders are re-typed into billing. Every re-type is a chance for a mistake.
Menus out of sync
A dish runs out on the POS, but the website keeps selling it.
Kitchen chaos
Tickets come from four places, with no single order sequence.
No customer view
The same guest books, orders online and dines in, and you see three strangers.
Messy closing
Matching cash, UPI, cards and online payments takes an hour every night.
Too many subscriptions
Separate tools for POS, ordering, bookings and marketing add up.
2What a unified restaurant system looks like
| Disconnected tools | One unified system | |
|---|---|---|
| Menu | Updated in 3–4 places | Change once, live everywhere |
| Kitchen | Tickets from every tablet | All orders on one kitchen screen, in sequence |
| Customers | Scattered across apps and phones | One list from every order and booking |
| Billing | Online orders re-typed | Orders flow straight into billing |
| Marketing | Hard to know who to target | Offers based on real order history |
One customer list is also what makes loyalty work. If you’re planning rewards, read restaurant loyalty vs subscription.
3The building blocks (and how FoodChow covers them)
POS & billing
Billing, GST invoices, a kitchen display and a token system for quick-service counters, running on devices you already own. You can start on the free Basic POS with a thermal printer and upgrade as you grow.
Online ordering website & app
Your own branded ordering site and app for delivery and pickup, with payments straight to your account and 0% commission. Here's how to capture direct orders without paying 30% commission.
QR & WhatsApp ordering
A QR on every table and counter, plus full ordering inside WhatsApp, with guest details saved for remarketing.
Table reservations
Diners book a table in two taps, and you manage seating, timings and no-shows from one screen.
Kitchen display system (KDS)
Orders from every channel land on one kitchen screen, in sequence, with prep timers. No missed or mixed-up orders.
Reports & marketing
Sales, top dishes and peak hours across one outlet or fifty (detailed reports are on paid plans), plus loyalty and targeted offers by WhatsApp, SMS and email.
Stop juggling tablets.

4The hardware you need (less than you think)
A unified system runs on what you already have: a laptop, tablet or phone for billing, plus a thermal printer for bills and KOTs. For the kitchen, an 80mm printer with an auto-cutter, or a screen for KDS.

5How to switch to one system in 6 steps
- List every tool you use today: POS, ordering, booking, WhatsApp, delivery apps, and what each one costs.
- Build one master menu with categories, prices, taxes and add-ons. This becomes the menu for every channel.
- Set up POS and the kitchen flow: bill printer, KOT printer or KDS.
- Turn on online, QR and WhatsApp ordering from the same menu.
- Move reservations from the notebook to the booking system.
- Train staff for one shift, then go live. Keep delivery apps running alongside while customers move to direct.
Switch on a slow day. Monday or Tuesday is ideal. Never switch systems on a Friday night or the day before a festival.
6Questions to ask any vendor
Before you sign, ask:
- ? Does one menu update every channel?
- ? Do online, QR and WhatsApp orders reach the kitchen without re-typing?
- ? Are reservations in the same system as billing?
- ? Do I own and can I export my customer data?
- ? What commission, if any, is charged on my own orders?
- ? Does it work with the printers and devices I already have?
